6 rules for a good company name
Use English characters
State registries only accept standard English letters. Simplify any special characters in your name before filing.
Be distinctive
Names 'deceptively similar' to existing companies in the state are rejected. Adding 'LLC' alone does not create enough distinction.
Watch for restricted words
Words like Bank, Insurance, University, and Trust require special licensing. Names implying a federal agency (FBI, Treasury) are prohibited.
Think about the domain

A designator is mandatory
